How long is your school day? Do you think it’s too short, too long or just right? Might you learn more if the school day were extended?  What do you tend to do in the afternoons?                                                                                                                                                                                           Write an argumentative essay for your teacher stating your claim about how long your school day should be?  Be sure to use reasons and evidence to develop your argument

  • Argumentative Writing (Complete graphic organizer/finish first 2 paragraphs)                     With the increasing pressure on schools to prepare students for high-stakes tests, and a growing dependence on Google and gadgetry for quick answers, is creativity endangered?                                                                                                                                                                         Write an argumentative essay for your teacher stating your claim about whether or not schools provide young people with enough opportunities to be creative.  Be sure to use reasons and evidence to develop your argument.
