Students will finish adding dialogue to their narratives and work on effectively ending the story.  The conclusion should follow from and reflect on the narrated experiences or events told in the story.  After students have a narrative, they will go back and add in details and imagery.

Please note that writing is a process.  We will keep adding to and/or changing our work in order to make it stronger.

We will take a grammar quiz on Friday.  Students will take a practice quiz on Thursday to prepare.  They should be bringing this home along with their study guide to study for the quiz.

November 7 - November 11

English
Periods 1, 4, 6, & 8

This week students will work on narrative significance.  The characters in their narratives should experience something and learn a lesson from that experience.  After they determine the lesson, students will work on characters, problem, and resolution to further develop that lesson.  Finally, they will work on making the narrative more interesting by using dialogue to begin the story.  Students will apply what they learn about dialogue during the bell ringer directly to the narrative.

We will take a grammar quiz on Friday.

Career Exploration
Periods 3 & 7

Students will finish their job application and move into a career interest inventory.  From there, they will begin creating a resume for one of the jobs from the interest inventory.

PSSA SSR

Students should bring a book with them and read from bell to bell unless otherwise indicated by the instructor.
